what is the cheapest barebone research/module built/fleet for swarm attack? (assuming there is a carrier)
in MS fighter module capital module
In carrier fighter module ion platrom vette module
Build: fighter, platform destroyer. fighter attack resourcing while platform is building up.
Probe MS to prevent enemy to build capital module and deploy platform and carrier next to enemy MS.
Is it extreme? will it work? I haven't play MP, jsut glancing at stat and playing with computer.

Playing Vaygr...
I just queue up 2 collectors each @ the MS and carrier along with fighter facilities at each. I build a research module @ the MS. I position my MS and carrier to shorten the collection runs.
Once the fighter facilities are up, I queue up 6 assault craft each @ the MS and carrier and sent them to a common rally point.
I don't really do anything else until that initial force is ready. Then I build 2 refineries (1 @ each) and send the carrier to a second resource patch while building a 6 or 7 to 1 resourcing operation. Meanwhile I research corvettes.
I eventually research bombers, upgrade the corvettes and fighters and research laser corvettes. I spend my time harrassing resource operations, picking modules and facilities off of command ships and BC's.
I've gotten to where I don't bother with building BC's at all - straight strike craft the whole game.
I don't know how well it would work 1 on 1 but as part of a team it seems to work pretty well. You won't get a good combat score, but you'll keep the other guys' capital fleets off balance enough that your team mates can mop them up fairly easily.

Vaygr,
I start by building 4-5 colls from FS and Carrier. Research mod after the second coll is done.
When the colls are done, prop up a fighter facility on both ships. Start researching lances and both fighter upgrades. I usually go 10 AC/8 lances. A little further down the road, build a capmod and get a carrier out. While that's building, im working on corv research. Corv mod on the carrier and FS. All laser vettes except for 2 commands.
The ACs maim fighters, Lances maim Corvs, and the Laser Corvettes maim Frigates and above no problem. It gets a little tight on the money but meh...
As Hiig,
Simple swarm... 4 Scouts, 8 Ceptors. Use the Scout EMP to disable swarms while your ceptors maim them. Pump Bombers or whatever you want later.

Wow you would all get pwned so badly running build ques that slow, 1/1 or 1/2 is the best route if its a small map like shield in a 1v1 i go 1/1 with a probe after each 1 probe + 1 ru coll = 1 fighter mod exactly, then get spamming those fighters 8 ru colls is just enough to get you pumping out them fighters and bombers.
Larger maps require diffrent strats it all depends on how close they are too you, but as a genreal rule of thumb the further awat the more ru colls you can build, ie on Crimson Bond i build 3/2, this allows me to build a research mod at about 10 fighters thus you can quickly swoops to spamming vets, do not try and mix vets and fighters as higgy its a waste as all them precious ru could be used better somewhere better at start.
anyway i rabbit on and this is an old thread

Fastest way I did it was suicide MS and collect the big RU chunk. Then spit out a pile of stuff from the carrier. It was a little more sophisticated than that but play around with it and youll find all kinds of nasty strats you can do with that. Including being the first with BC by far. Or maybe a swarm of frigs. Oh yea, you wanted lots of fighters? Yea it can do that too. Heheh.

only prob with that is you can't build another MS. I never retire build capable ships. If u collect efficiently you'll collect the equivalent of MS scrap in 10 minutes...

b right there, just gotta kill one more collector... |

Yea but starting with that many RU's I should be able to kill you in less than 10. Not to mention I am collecting with the carrier the whole time as well.
Also you can build a shipyard with a carrier so you can still get caps.
I used the strat a few times and it almost always worked. A head start like that is hard to keep up with if Im being agressive the whole game. I stopped doing it after a while cause I didnt want it to become a popular strat.
