I'll be creating my character tonight. Any suggestions?

From the posts I've seen, I think I should create my character on Champion server.

Any suggestions on what's the best type character to make (knowing the majority response will be "what suits you best")? And what specific abilities are a must (e.g. flying vs. hopping, vs. running around)?

Is TeamSpeak being used or compatible with this game?

See you all soon, in tights!

Pacey, I have no idea what you just said, but I'm sure it will help me a lot.

Thanks

Ok, I've created 2 characters (it's a hoot making characters).

They are:

"Radke" - Defender - Radiation Infection and Electrical Blast are first skills (magic based)

"Slag" - Blaster - Slug (assault rifle) and Fire Ring are first skills (mutation based)

I'm playing right now. just got through with the tutorial on my "Radke" defender character.

I've made 2 other new guys although I'm sticking with Radke for now.

They are:

Sledge Hammer: Tanker (science) with Rock Armor and Bash

And, SmakU, a scrapper (technology) can't remember what items he's using.

Where should I start off, Back Alley Brawler area in Galaxy City, or Ms Liberty area in Atlas Park?

I will usually be playing nearly every night from 8:00 to 11:00 pm Pacific Time.

Here is a good char to start with....

Defender Empathy/Radiation Blast. IMO its the best healer/support char in the game. This will allow you to be a useful part of any group and be able to solo easy. Get the first radiaton attack only. Its a fast attack that takes little end. This will allow you to focus on the empathy line mainly. The AoE (area of effect) attack is good to pick up latter. The eye attack and cone attacks arnt all that great so I wouldnt even get them.

I dont like the electrical attack line. The end reduction doesnt do much in the game. Read the other threads. There are some char ideas there.

Well I played last night for about 4 hours. Got my Defender leveled up to 4 and had a great time as Vespers' (Petrified) sidekick in a group mission that saw most of us die at least once.

I'm enjoying my Defender with Rad/Electrical for now. I have a debuff and attack stuff, next I'll need to get some buff/heal abilities to round him out. I don't want to have the "reccommended" or most powerful type character. A little uniqueness is cool for me.

Thanks to Petri and Festus (playing Bran) for some fun in the group. See you all again tonight likely. I did notice that I was not picking up any enhancements or other stuff during the missions, so I'm going to need to mix up my action with some solo missions and group stuff to keep my toon moving up in the goodies I have to use.

This game is way better than Lineage 2.

Yeah, if you are SideKicked you tend to NOT get any enhancements as they are much higher than you can use anyhow and too valuable as trade in material for influence.

I have another low level character (as in level 4) that can run around with you. Illusive.

Cool, Petri. But don't let 'em lay around too long, I made level 5 this afternoon.

LOL... that was a funny one. I have a demo recording of last nights romp. I need to convert it over to a more friendly format for the non-CoH players as you need the client and a modified link to view the recording (the recording consists of a text file). Once that is done, I'll post them in a seperate thread. I'll do another tonight as well.

Just remember: if you get TPed, stop moving FAST.

I know typing repetitive comments can be annoying, so let me hint a couple things: Press F7 to say you are ready. F6-F10 all make some standard comment.

For TPers: type this (without pressing enter).
/bind lshift+t "group Prepare to be ported. Don't move!"
This will say "Prepare to be ported. Don't move!" in team chat but the TP friend power will have to be done manually.

If you want to say it and TP the targeted teamate in one go:
/bind lshift+t "group $target, prepare to be ported. Don't move!$$powexec_name Recall Friend"

Once you enter those, they are permanantly associated with that character (only that character but on any computer). There is a way to export the list and upload it, however, the thread that gave detailed info has gone missing.
