I just leveled up to 6 and chose my new skill, Accelerated Metabolism and a first aid skill.
My problem is the Accel Metab did not show up in my skills list, but the training was complete. I logged off and back on with no affect. Has anyone had this happen or am I missing something? Can I expect it after next server reset tomorrow?
I'm gonna be pissed if I got robbed from my skills. Help!?!

You didn't cancel the training by chance did you? Or, have you tried talking to the trainer again?
Actually, I bet I know what it is: The power tray only allows for 10 powers per row (you can have up to 9 rows with 2 showing at any time - though at 6 you should have only 8 powers total). Either it is in tray 2 or it was not dropped into the trays. You can look at the Powers list by clicking on "Powers" on the power tray. You should see a list of primary, secondary, and power pool powers. AM should be there.
If it is not and after talking to the trainer again to no avail, then you may be victum of a rare bug, in which case file a /bug report so they can document it. You'll get an e-mail to your out of game e-mail and may need to respond to it. You can also petition the GMs by clicking on Menu then Support. You should check off Technical issues and then detail what happened. The GMs should have the ability to handle this issue now (before they could not since they did not have the tools yet). If I am in game and you catch me let me know what stage of figuring out you are at.

I think I might have the answer. correcte me if I'm wrong:
At level 6 you do NOT get both a skill and an ability, you get one or the other.
I selected a skill, accelerate metabolism, AND then selected an ability, heal other. It seemed to take them both and my accelerate metabolism as I recall was still selected, but I only got one of them. From reading some of the forums showing the builds by level, I'm not seeing people select both a skill and an ability at level 6. They are only selecting one of them. I still have not received a reponse from my bug reports, so I shot them an e-mail today. I'll let you know what they have to say, if they ever say anything.

usually you recieve a new POWER or more SLOTS, which alternates as you level up.
So, maybe what you did was select the Accelerate Metabolism, then see something else you wanted. If yu selected something new, then the accel metab was deleted and the new choice highlighted. Once you finish your LAST choice becomes permanent.

You only get one power every even level up to level 32
Then you get 2 enahnce slots every level you do not gain a power up to level 37.
So you tried to take two powers? THAT would explin it: you can't
