Hi Guy's. I have been playing on the server on and off for a little while and have spoke with a couple of you on TS. I would like to know if members have a priority to enter a server and kick a non member?
I tried to get on last night, but the server was full. I guess I should have spoke up on TS and asked. I'm sometimes a little shy at first.
How do I get the privilege of attaching the OMO on my screen name?

Hello DBM, Your persistance in joining in gaming and posting in these forums is part of the well worn path for joining OMO. All you need is two or more OMO members to support your request and as long as you meet the minimum requirements you will go through the infamous OMO initiation. The minimum requirements usualy center around age related things, as does the naming.

As for the BF2 server administration... most of the OMO guys you see on the server, do pay a monthly 'donation' to cover server costs, and in doing so have a reserved slot in the server. Unfortunately, sometimes, this causes non-members to be 'kicked' when a member wants to join a game and there is a shortage of places. Although every paying member has admin rights on the server, there are just a couple who have volunteered to undertake this task. Hope this answers your questions.

Thanks Fuddy. Well I'm 46 in September. And I just made a 50.00 donation to the cause. I like the idea of playing with fun game loving people my own age. Team killing teenagers are the only thing that makes me mad. Except of course going to the fridge to find no beer.
I'm a bad speller and am known to hit the wrong key during game play and eject myself from a vehicle.
I wish I could go online more than I do, but the wife thinks that there is things to do around the house. Go figure?
Oh yea and I babble on and on sometimes.

we have a bad spller too, (Pacey) so don't worry, you're not alone. Just keep playing and get on TS when you play. Also, when possible join the OMO squads.

DBM check the status of your payment. Did you use the Donate button on the OMO home page? I haven't received your donation. By the way, I think it's standard hitting the "E" button when you get in a hurry and try to hit the "W" I know it happens to me all the time :D Sounds like you qualify for OMO to me. And by the way Fuddy I thought it had to be 3 OMOs to admit someone?

I thought so too Cathy, but I was trying to cover my ignorance.
I could have been a bit more vague by stating 'give or take a few'.

Now that the subject of 'babbling' has been raised (thanks DBM), may I introduce Catheter, our resident 'babbler' who along with Nosehair (resident food taster), are extrememly efficient in the vocalisation department. To join the OMO BF2 server choir you must be on Teamspeak during 'battle hours' to display your proficiency with the 'corn chip', 'peanut crunch' and beer can whilst giving a running commentary on every single mishap than befalls you during the game.

Hey that describes it pretty good fuddy. By the way I drink my bud from long neck bottles :D

I also switched to push to talk so you guys wont have to listen to all my babbling. After last night I think Dementia took my place in babbling with Nosehair. I could hardly hear my own thoughts.

I'll check to see if it went my direction Catheter. From the looks of DBMs response I think it did. I'll let you know.

[edit]It sure did come my direction. I'll send it on your way Catheter.[/edit]

Ok I think you are right Heart. It says OMO Site Portal donation. It should have said OMO Hosted Game Server donation. I sent an email to Arcane to verify that we did receive the donation. Should hear something soon.

We could easily raise the number of slots Gink, but conversely, the starting number requirement goes higher as the slot count increases (so says Cathy). I hear it is sometimes difficult to get a game started due to lack of players, though once the magic number is passed, the server fills up quite quickly.
The other concern I have is that of how good the server will be at supporting higher slot counts. No doubt they have the capability of going up to the full load of 64 but we'll have to keep a close eye on the quality of the connection.

Fud, I usually log into the server when I get home from work about 5 est. It usually will start in about 45 mins. Once it starts it fills up to 20+ pretty quickly. You must be home now so log into the sever even if you cant play right now.

Peace

Ginko

No, I'm not home yet.
Gotta meet the wife and take her for a meal. Then I should be home about 6.30 - 7.00 central time, whereupon I will be looking for OMO AWOLS to form a squad.. and then, on to victory.
