today, this morning, the bf2 servers were experiencing difficultys. unbeknownest to me. after waiting 20 minutes at the connecting to server , i could not escape the program. no amount of ctrl alt del, or windows tricks would get me out. so i shut my comp off. when i rebooted, windows would not load!! i could not get to the desktop in anything other then safe mode. trying every trick in the book, and failing, i ended up calling microsoft for 35 bucks, and they got me up and running.
turns out this damn ea application when shut down unexpectedly, trashes random drivers needed for windows. in my case, the usb drivers for my printer where gone, but plug and paly was still active in startup. once i disabled plug and play, it worked fine. but bf2 was still toast. i had to un and reinstall to get it to work THANKS EA!
