Hey OMO,
We wanted to let you in on a fun little mod server that we (BCO/Gigafrag.net) have put up. We are running the TotalBF2 Map Packs 1 & 2. It has some really fun maps. Unranked of course.
You can get the map packs at Fileplanet or Filecloud. Gigafrag also put them up for download. http://www.gigafrag.net/files/under BF2 Maps. Don't worry about installing Omaha Beach, as it is buggy. The 2 map packs are self extracting and should put the files in the correct place. If you have issues connecting or it says you do not have the maps, just check under C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Levels. Make sure you see the map folders in the levels folder. Each map folder will be named and includes an info folder, and 2 zips. DO NOT UNZIP THESE.

We have also put up a new channel on our Vent server for this new mod server.
We plan on having a rotating schedule of where we (BCO) will be playing. Looks like it may be Wednesdays and Saturdays for the Mod Server.

Quick question, is there any impact to installing and playing MODs on the client side that would affect playing on ranked servers?

Hope not. LOL. No, if you tried to play these maps on a ranked server it would kick you for PB violations. We don't run PB on the mod server for that reason.
On the client side, all your doing is adding available maps to BF2. Your profile and game is not changed at all.
If your worried about it, just make up a new player for playing on mod servers (although, you will not have a bunch of unlocks to use if you do that).
