I was just looking at the ranks and requirememts and noticed this. The Sergeant Major of the corps requirememts:
Rank: Master Sergeant
Notes: This rank is only awarded to one player at a time. It can not be earned in game via points/awards.

So wtf does that mean? One player at a time? Does that mean one player a day, one player per server, what?

Older is the only player to reach 50,000 points and he got his Sergeant Major. Dementia has just a few more points before he reaches 50000 and I have 17,000. I do have all the basic vehicle awards, required for Sergeant Major, so how do you know what you will advance to?

Sargeant Major (Army, Marines), or Master Chief Petty Officer (Navy, Coast Guard) of the Whatever, is a position that only 1 person has in the real military(s). They are the top rated noncommissioned officer in their service and enjoy a significant amount of influence and power. The game is mirroring the real life services.

I would guess they have a selection criteria on a day to day basis from the eligible pool of players that meet the criteria and it is likely exclusively held by some 24/7 player that flys helos or jets exclusively.

Not wealth or luxury or long life or happiness: only power, pure power. ... We know that no one ever seizes power with the intention of relinquishing it. Power is not a means, it is an end. One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship. The object of persecution is persecution. The object of torture is torture. The object of power is power. I pretty sure the Sergeant Major of the Corps was the highest award at the time pre-patch and pre-2nd Lt. I think it was awarded to the top point scorer in the world. I don't know if it is even available now. I read one site that now says Sgt. Maj. of the corps is awarded after 250,000 to the person for the highest average point total for the previous month. Nobody ever had enough points prior to the patch to earn the award, so my guess is it has never been awarded. It is possible that there may be some new ranking and award adjustments in the next patch. Right now, all of the SF medals and most of the ribbons have not made it into the current version of the game (in the code, not turned on).

The site I went on says it's not based on points/awards. But that aside I guess what you guys are saying is only 1 person can ever have that rank in the whole world. So I guess I'm looking at Sergeant Major maybe in 3 months.

Technically yes it is but, I am sure the Sergeant Major of the Corps holds a whole heck of a lot more prestiege and influence, real life and in the game. After all would you want to be just another butterbar or the one and only Sergeant Major of the Corps ?
