I couldn't find a sign up for the beta, just the newsletter.

If someone finds it let me know. I may have to craft another of my sucky letters.

As much as I like his little gif over there..methinks it should be removed.

uh... yep, I have to agree Festus... although I don't want to (damn it).

The bottom line is that we have folks with children that sometimes happen to look over their shoulders (sometimes more often then not).

For the sake of those folks I support the change Pacemaker initiated.

Oh... I just thought about this... in my work place I could get fired for having that .gif in my cache. Pretty extreme I know but there is a zero porn tolerance (and no the "this is Art!" line won't cut it).

On the Round 2 news we also have GroundControl 2. I picked that up on a pass at the Relic Forums. I'll check it out some more.

"Up to 6 players in multi"

Uh oh. That sounds like network stability problems.

could be, 8 are allowed in HW2 even though it is a little unstable at that number.

Either that or they are trying to be realistic about how many can play WITH stability. Maybe they have good code for the control of 2,000+ moving and controllable objects in a full game. I don't know a lot about network code, but maybe 6 is the most stable number they want to publish. Or, there aren't that many people who play 8 player games and rather than sacrifice gameplay for stability at that level they opted for a more modest and reasonable number.

Hey! So maybe there will be 2 games with OMO running at a time.

well u have to admit over 50% of games 6 and over never get off the ground because of connection problems or players bailing out or sync errors or .......so, my guess is it will be no different than HW1.

Warcraft III's code was sweet. Up to 16 players stable if i remember correctly. Bugger, I asked the question about why only 6 player on the Relic forum months ago, but really didn't get a good answer.

I'm too lazy to do the beta thing - ORB cured me of that, but I look forward to popping into that MP chat room with my OMO tag.
