I played on the non OMO side tonight with a couple of others. It wasn't much fun having 15 deaths and only a few kills 2-3 but the rounds were more fun than last night when we won by 200+ points all night.

When we have 10 or more on one side we need to split up in order to make the rounds more even. I don't mean put 2-3 guys over there and 12 on the winning side all night. That's not even it's just a slower defeat.

We need to come up with some way to make it more fair.

Um Festus, you of all people should know we are not a clan... I hope your not implying we play in organized squads for practice on the server because if you joined Vent, you would hear just how unorganized things really are. If you watched the squad play on squad screen, you would find that only a few OMOs actually stay in their squads.

Having said that, it's something we have been exploring for a while.

How about we institute the "side swapping initiative", the SSI for short! We can play for 5 minutes on one side, then pop over to the other team and play there for 5 minutes. Keep popping all night long then we can be sure that whatever score happens it happen fair and square!

Now about that bridge I have for sale in Brooklyn!

I have a possible solution. There is an option in bf2cc to randomize the switching at the end of the round. Not sure how it works but it could work. Of course that would mean you wouldn't always be with your buddy or on the side you want.

I think it would be better just to let the server put you where it does and not switch manually.

I just wanted to chime in here for a second.

First, splitting up will actually make you all better players.

Second, keeping things even is a constant battle and not an exact science. We often have to move all BCO to one side if the HEL guys are on the other side. Sometimes we move all our Regs to one side and BCO to the other. It all depends on who is on at the time and what the skill level is.

Third, I look for indicators like large scores on one side and very small on the other, total end scores that are 100 - 0 or more.

Forth, Admin, Admin, Admin. Maybe not every person in the clan can be an admin, but anyone that can, needs to do the job. We have recently had a great break through with in-game admin controls. Father Fury is our expert on the subject and if you want to know how to do it, please go over to our site and PM Father Fury for info on how to.

I stop by the OMO server every so often, but the stacking is a turn off. The other things mentioned also make it really hard to stay on the OMO server for too long (admining seems to be very hit and miss) Tangle_i and myself were on a couple days ago, but one guy was cheating so bad that after 5 min. of trying to get someone to admin, we both left. They guy (Sgt Surgg) was TKing to get the chopper for he and his buddy. He ended up with a great combat score, but was negative on team score (hum, I wonder how that happened).

We have been full on our server for the last 10 days or so. We moved to a no camping uncaps rule, heavy admin involvement, and trying to keep things even are all reasons that we have mad a bit of a comeback. It's not too late for OMO, so take our advice (it is really friendly advice cause we like you guys), and keep it even and admin as much as you can.

Thanks Bloody, no offence taken.

If you ever have concerns in the game on our server please punctuate with ********************************************* before texting the message. This will get the attention of our admins heavy in battle.

Catheter:

Despite possible lagging issues, I think we should have at about three admins logged on at a time to share the load.

Possibly but my concern is people logged into bf2cc aren't doing anything. They may open it to see how many people or what side to get on but then they aren't actively doing anything to admin.

Please if you are logged into bf2cc and someone wants to get in or have someone kicked for TKs please do so. If you aren't going to help admin, once you get in, shut down bf2cc. It does cause a lot of server overhead. There is now an indicator at the bottom right of bf2cc to let admins know how many admins are logged in.

I haven't been running bf2cc since several have it open when I'm checking the server status but it seems we are getting complaints about lack of active admins. Lets see if we can improve on this.

FYI HB...............I wasn't referring to OMO as a "clan". I was referring to the servers run by other Clans, cus well....they are clans. TLB operates its servers under the philosophy I described, and to this day its BF1942 server is still "standing room only".

Our BF2 server has not caught on as well, but we still operate under the same rules. Of course we have several "match only" servers that we can practice on with other squads so we tend to leave the teaming up for those games, practices and matches.

As for the "squadding up" comment, you may not be doing it or may not be doing it as effectively as you could, but when players check the teams, and see 8-10 OMO siggys on one side, you know that it appears that way.

I'm done, one post too many I think. I pointed it out, its in your hands and anything further is just going to be rehashing. Thanks for listening. :)

I have no problem with 3-4 OMO playing together, but when its 6, 8 or more...theres the problem.

Again its your server run it the way you see fit but in the end if its continues to be Squad practice for OMO, then you stand to lose your regular players and settle for the "drop in' kind. They will play awhile, get biatchslapped around, and then leave. No worries, another one will fill the slot, but the caliber of player will drop.

Festus is right, 3 or 4 is not stacking. But I've been on your server and seen nearly a dozen omo on one side putting a hurting on the opposite side, that not fun either. That's when I leave

BCO does do a good job of spliting up. Yesterday I saw a bunch of games come right down to the wire. Lots of the games finished with the tickets in the single digits. Each side had about 6 or so BCO/BCR on it with nearly equal skill levels.

You also have to be flexiable, I've seen other clans show up on BCO that took everything we had to keep up with or beat even with one side stacked with BCO.

I like playing against other OMOs and being on vent with them because it's fun to listen and tell them "nice shot" when they get ya. The fights we had last night at the Air Field, TV station, gas station and power station were a blast. So thank you Catheter, Petrified, Older, Cack, Specimen, Xanix, JW and BB (sorry if I left anyone out).

Contact Father Fury about the in game commands. Once you set it up and get your admins hashes logged, you don't have to run BF2CC. You simply type in commands in the game to warn/kick/ban for different things. It really is nice and has doubled or tripled our admins that are actively helping.

I knew about the commands Bloody but they looked pretty complicated. I didn't think anyone wanted to mess with it but I'll check into it since we seem to make some changes. I don't have a problem with running bf2cc cus I have another Desktop right beside my game box and also a laptop with it installed. The problem is the guys that only have one machine and they probably don't want to Alt-Tab out to get to bf2cc constantly. The ingame commands may be the answer.

I'm sorry I could not be of more help, but I had a high ping (180-200) on the new OMO server and was lagging something fierce. I turned all my video settings to low, to try to counteract some lag, so we will see how it goes. Hopefully it was just a bad Comcast cable night... (as I watch the comcast cable truck drive down my road)

Personally I like going against the mainstream of OMO's. I think it makes me a better player when I get shot by Fuddy for the 6th time in a row. It makes me seriously consider where to go, how to get there unseen, and how many times I can let corroded get sacrificed to draw out the people that are hiding so that I may avenge his death.

But honestly, when you have 10 OMO on one side and 2 OMO on the other, its no fun. Its not that I want to win, its just that I want to be able to take three steps without dying.

I agree with you Xanix, running 3 feet and getting shot is no fun. If I see the game is getting REAL lopsided >100-0, I'll start jumping on the weak side to help out! I'll have to drag my VSFS MIC KEY MOUSE Squard with me though! We a team!

Not to jump way off topic, I will NEVER NEVER join the dreaded OMO side! I just makes me sick to even think that I would kill some one to prevent them from taking out Heartburn,Nosehair or any other OMO. Sorry ...I just...I...I just can't do it.

Oh the nighmares I've had during DC days, the countless of sleepless nights and the trips to shrink, I'm better now and more prepared than ever to bring down the EVIL OMO EMPIRE.

It's good to know that you appreciate the efforts I make to enhance everyones BF2 skills. Please pass this news on to everyone else in OMO so that I may shoot them too and increase OMO efficiency even more.

What did I do now littleeasy

Xanix, I jumped on the OMO serve this morning and had a 180ms ping. I can't run a trace route to the server which is strange. Issues don't start until Dallas.
