Been playing alot in the desert. Being in Hawaii I only have a choice of about 10 servers that are still occupied. We have had passionate arguments whether or not to allow base camping and kicking for those that do. If you want to see how the game really sucks, just hop on one of these servers that allows (most do)base camping. the map never comes into play. It's just bombing each others base. Really gets old fast. Once in a while you can find a server that enforces the no camp rule or has a bubble over the base, but, most of the time it's just all out rape.....sure takes the fun out of the game.
Yep, those stunts can really ruin a game. Some of us were on a BF2142 server a couple of days ago where a lot of the team were using unfair tactics by using macro key stroke combo's so the could select a rdx pack drop it and detonate it all with one command and had friendly fire off so they could kill everyone around them but themselfs. I seem to run across a lot of guys that can still jump and shoot at the same time even though the last patch fixed that for the honest players. The good side of all this is handing them their ass even with all the stuff they pull.
The problem with D-Con and Desert Combat before it was the lack of effective air-to-air defense. A good pilot could just have his way with nobody to stop him. Sort of like Mr. Fairplay in BF2 before the big missle-tracking patch
Petri, you can put a bubble around the base. If the enemy gets within the bubble they die immediately. Quite effective keeping riff raff out of the bases.....and it gives you no warning. Immediate death..
New DCon is out guys. I guess that they have server side admin abilities built in for base camping bubbles and a few other settings. We will most likely not run a server, as we have to either run Ranked or a mod (not both). Will try to find a good (non camping server).
