I'm with you Petri, it didn't like my GForce 6800GT I think I am going to build a new system later this year and make the switch to PCIE and DDR2 memory.

If you don't choose the right spec's your screwed. Here's what worked for me as the spec's I actually have didn't work even though there more then enough to run Crysis, I'm sure other variations work as well but they seem to be picky:
English = Yes Vid card = 8800 256MB Memory = 1gig plus (I think) CPU = Intel Core Duo (at the end) Internet = DSL
Only way you can try to resubmit new setting is to delete your browsers cookie files associated with fileplant. Do a search on the web on how to find and delete cookies.

You need Nvidia 7x series to run Crysis but go with an 8x model if you're upgrading. Older had some good suggestions in another thread for new Vid card selection.

I've played it for just a half hour. Not enough time to make any good judgment, BUT!! My initial thoughts??? I have been spoiled by BF2. I have a Athalon 64 4200 x2. Dual 7800 nvidea pci express vid cards with 3 gigs of ram. with that I let the software pic the best vid settings for my system and the game set them at the lowest?????? Geez Do we have to run the absolute latest greatest to make the game look good? I'll give you updates. Spec what do you think????

Still having trouble getting the game going....I'm going to fiddle with it and see if I can get it going. It might be my Sound Blaster drivers that are too old. update hopefully soon.

This is scary... it looks like this game is bringing even moderate to higher-end systems to their knees. Count me out

Well, adjusted the quality of the sound to med and it's working fine. Interesting, water graphics are realy cool and you can shoot the wildlife. LOL

I played a couple rounds last night and thought it was pretty cool. did not get into heavy combat situations, just toured around mostly seeing what can be done like shooting the tires off the vehicles, killing frogs and birds. I like the auto turret guards on the main bases, meaning instant death for spawn campers.
The thing that kinda was unerving was my shadow following me. LOL Not used to that in a game. The blurring when you turn quickly was different, and the water streaming down your facemask when exiting the river was a neet touch.
There are several weapon choices and kits. I did not get how to get a loadout, probably need to read about it. I definitely need to tweak my graphics setting down abit as everything was on high with Antialiasing @ 4x res 1024x768. I'm running a 7950GT Superclocked. Crap, may need to write Santa for some backup.

Yes this game was built for VERY high end systems. All in All I am not too excited. Who's up for a game of BF2?

I hope some of the PC game developers start taking a page from Nintendo Wii, develop the games for the gameplay, and not the eye candy.

I often hear about all the new "Eye Candy" and how wonderful every thing looks. I agree to an extent that in the newer games they look great if you are on by yourself and strolling around checking things out. But under combat fire in a game how much do you really notice the senic view when your trying to keep from getting your ass shot off.

I've played for about an hour and like it. The eye candy is beautiful, but a DX10 version is coming too, that ought to be something! The game play was smooth, similar to BF2 for me. Weapons look cool, vehicles too. Boats are very nicely done. All the buildings are open so you must go in them to raise the flag. More later!
