Looks like we are getting enough interest in this to start our own guild. What say ye my fellow barbarians?

I doubt it pacy, but you never know.
Having a small guild in the beginning might be feasible but if you want to enjoy the end game content a merger with a larger guild might be prudent.
There are 3 types of servers: Player vs Environment:On the PvE servers you can only PvP in an instance region known as "The border kingdoms" where the player made cities are ran.
PvP servers, it's "Game on" outside the safe areas.
RP-PvP:Like PvP but with less people on the server because Role playing scares off the kids (hence why this will be the sever I'll be playing on, just got to be wary of the "RP Nazis")
There will be only a certain amount of battle keeps that will be available these give you huge bonuses in PvP but take quite a bit of resources to upkeep, so the bigger guilds will have an advantage in numbers. The smaller guilds probably won't have much of a chance of these but can offer their services as mercenaries to help the other guilds.
There is a mercenary system where a guild can put a call out to other players on the server via the merc channel and warp them in if they accept. I don't know how the money is exchanged so you don't end up getting screwed but I think it's put into separate account and you have to play for side that's paying you for a certain amount of time before you can get your gold. I'm not for certain on this so don't take my word on it.
From what I understand leveling is going to much much faster than in WoW or CoH etc.. They said an experienced gamer could reach level 80 in 15 days about half as long as it took to reach 60 in WoW. Their focus is going to be on end game content they didn't want it to take forever to get there like most of those other MMOG's
Bugger I haven't heard those terms mentioned in my reading of AoC articles but basically you can straight up kill anyone other than those in your guild guild. The PvP penalties are going to be like CoH, if you die you have get half XP until you clear your debt, another reason to have lots of friends around in case of griefers. I think they have a bounty system in place in case you kill a player too many levels below you.
If you kill someone too low a bounty is placed on your head and other players or NPC's get to collect your head for cash ( I think..don't quote me) they have to have some system in place or it's going to get real ugly real quick.
*Edit update some FAQ on PvP Does a better job than me http://community.ageofconan.com/wsp/conan/frontend.cgi?func=publish.show&template=content&func_id=2336&table=CONTENT
Yeah she's a "Ginger" alright Pertri She keeps all the smacktards in line though.

The terms I use are from how the politics work out. Not from devs but the players. I will describe them as they where on the pvp server in AC.
RPK (random player killer) - Chaotic Evil. They will kill anyone and everyone they can. Often run in small groups hunting the lone players. A common missconception is that they are the slobbering 12 year olds of the server. This is not true. Most often they are the bravest on the server. The most hated and hunted by everyone. Mostly power gamers with something to prove.
PK (player killer) - Neutral Evil. Not quite as bad as the RPK. They will go on killing rampages but that is not the total focus of thier gaming experiance. They tend to focus on raiding anti groups and rampaging newbie areas. Mainly the casual gamers with something to prove.
Neutral - True Neutral. They will defend when attacked but will not start a fight without good reason. Mostly casual gamers that want to play on the "real" server but dont have anything to prove.
Anti (anti-player killer) - Chotic Good. They are the counter to the PK's and RPK's. They will hunt PK's and defend non PK's. Sometimes they will kill randomly with little or no provication. Talking to a known PK might be enough to make you a target. A lot of cowards hide behind the skirts of the real anties and call themselves anties. They tend to run when the fighting starts. Mostly older teenagers and people in thier twenties. They want to save the world and all that.
Hardcore anti - Lawful Good. They sell themselves as the ultimate good guys. Dont buy it. This is where the real slobbering 12 year old end up. They are the ones who get fed up being outnumbered and out manuvered by the PK's. They decide that the only way to control the server is to come up with a strict set of rules that everyone else must follow or die. In my time on the open PK server as a neutral these are the ones I had the most problems with. They are as bad or worse than the RPK's. They work on the premis that you are guilty untill proven innocent. If you are not part of group that is not known as anti you must be PK. If you are not with a group you must be a PK in training. In either case you are either part of thier select group or you are a target. Dont expect these from day one but in about 6 mo to a year they will prob start showing up. Mainly Anties that get tired of fighting a uphill battle all the time.
Honor - Not a group type in itself it is added to another description. Example: Honor PK or honor anti. They are a counter point to the random PK and the hardcore anti. They will follow certain rules in how they fight. For example a honor PK might not attack players much lower lvl than them or a honor anti might only attack someone who is a member of a known PK group. When I played I was a Honor Neutral. I controlled a small town and acted like a local sherif. If you killed in my town I would beat you down. What happened elsewhere was not my problem.
These discriptions are as they where on the AC server. Because each game is different things wont quite be the same. You can expect things to end up close to what I described above since it will still be a open PVP server. Game mechanics and style may change things a little but I wouldnt expect it to be a lot different.
Btw: I will prob play a lot of different char types but the first I will lvl will be a Necromancer. If you guys want to make a plan to for a well balanced group that will be my class. I love me my necros

I am pretty sure I will start with a conquerer followed by hunter.
I think the Murder Herd is a PK group - mostly chaotic.

For myself, I'm thinking ranger (seems closest to the hunter class in WoW, which I've come to play rather well - love to kite) or a priest (I'm a decent healer - only concern is that healers are targets and tend to not solo well).
I'd love to see a small group of us become organized.

But seriously, I think you are secretly pining to play.

I'll probably be playing a guardian as my main and a priest hybrid tempest of set as an alt http://tinyurl.com/6674sd Speci you don't have to have others on to play a MMOG, they'll be plenty of things to do while others aren't on.
what type of server do you guys want to play on?
Lots of good info here. http://forums.ageofconan.com/showthread.php?t=58110
Nosey! If the MMOG is good then you get you money's worth. I got a lot of entertainment for 15 bucks a month from playing MMOG's. In MMOG's there are tons more things to do other than pew pew for a few hours.

Well I am thinking of hunter class or assasin, when playing Star wars galaxies these were my favs and pvp servers seem very interesting but not as interesting as playing a game with the all wise Aged-OMO after all these years. The last game we played together was Mech warrior 4 and maybe against all hopes having Arcane-OMO and Myopic-OMO join in the fray. OOOOOO I shiver at the thought.

Still in WoW atm. I'm currently playing Horde on Garithos. I fire up the different mech games now and again too. I wish something would happen with the rumors about the next one, but no new info on the Smith & Tinker page.

Such OMO interest in an MMO has left me little choice but to take proactive action regarding Age of Conan.
