I am a firm believer in large airy cases with plenty of air room and a few large fans

Large cases are good for heat disapation. The only real draw back is with dust.

Interesting techinical point Petri, I never thought of it that way but it makes sense...."Always buy the smallest case because it will hold less dust".

I bought a big server case and I mean big. Made it nice when we built the machine but your right Petri, I have to open it up at least once a month and blow it out. However, I do love the case and it shines pretty with the glass side and the big fans keeps it cool.

I should clarify: the added airflow is not a bad thing, it just makes more opportunity for dust and thus more cleaning. You could use filters, but that simply means the smaller and harder to blow off dust is more likely to stick directly to components when it would otherwise be attaching to larger bits of dust.

I blow mine out every month anyway. But there are great washable filters out there for 120mm fans. Im still admiring the empty case planning my strat on it. Thinking about turning my stimulus check into a GTX. They can be had for less than $300.00 now. But I think im goin Zotac. I like a little more speed without an OC. I might get 800/2400 out of it with watercooling later. Looking forward to the upgrade. Looking forward to the Crysis mods still.
