How about we quit worrying about who's a damn Republican/Democrat or Conservative/Liberal and start focusing on the real issues with our country and the world?

I could give a shit less if you're one or the other as long as you have the balls to stand up for your country.

To often folks use this specific forum as an opportunity to sling crap at those they believe are on the other side of the fence.

Here's a suggestion. How about trying to look at the issue from the other side... try to understand where the other person is coming from and then think "BIG"... think about the big picture instead of the little myopic world that we typically allow ourselves to be boxed into.

I remember when I was bashed daily 3 or 4 years ago and no one said a thing about the bashing I got. I stoped comeing in for about a year. I learned that I can discuss and not get mad. I am not mad or upset. I am not trying to create strife between anyone, just voiceing what I think is important in the comeing election and welcome
others to do the same. I may not like it but can handle it. This stuff of calling it hate this and hate that is nonsense. It is a persons opinion and that is how it should be taken. They have the right.

The problem in the country now is that everyone is carrying their feelings on their shirt sleeve and are way to easy to offend. Everyone is afraid they might offend someone. We need to talk and without talking we have no country. Same for the club. I would hate to think that if I had a problem that might upset someone I could not express it and get answers or at least something.

I thought maybe I should stop by one more time because last night ended on such a sour note.

Look fella's, I am sorry if I offended anyone reading these boards. I truly thought anything could be spoken here. I understand my thought process to be intimidating to some guys, and in real life my physical stature intimidates most guys. All in all, I am a pretty intimidating guy, who got to excited to find like minded individuals. So you see, the problem is mine as a human being .... one who gets rather intoxicated with the passions of freedom ....... and of free men.

But as a personal rule I refuse to hang with insulting men so I have to split this scene. Again here guys, I am not trying to offend as I still have respect for you guys as a group. I also harbor no ill feelings, as I hope you don't either.

One short note to Nosehair. Dude, I admire your humor! From your sig to your posts you make me chuckle. You'll never know it but am TOO quite jovial. And yes, we can all just get along. We just can't occupy the same space.

Rock on gentlemen, and you TOO Nosehair, stay well and just so's I don't embarass Barack Hussein Obama any further,

Sionara!

P. S. You guys might consider some alterations to the forum sub heading.

Well you know how emotional some get on certain topics, I guess we don't have the right to post what we want to talk about on here anymore because of the delicate nature of some members. Probably a bad idea to have this type forum for this type of discussion here anyway. Might be a good idea to dissolve it all together and go back to talking about BF2 or some other drivel.

Why would we alter the forum sub-heading? I see happening in here exactly what is expected to happen. A lot of folks coming here knowing exactly what they are doing when they make a post... knowing EXACTLY that it is going to cause controversy... and for the most part talking through it. It always amazes me then, when those same folks don't accept the consequences of their actions.

Thanks for standing up for you position Havok and for the note. Personal opinion - the hornets nest was stirred up... how about heeding my advice? There is no reason for folks to leave or for topics to be censored (at least from what I can see). What does need to happen is that folks need to take a step back and really listen to the other side... understand it. If we don't do that... if we just walk away believing we are right and the other guy is wrong (and thinking to hell with them)... well we'll never solve a damn thing and we'll never grow.

Bif is exactly right to a point. If we understand that I would expect us to keep that in mind when someone does get upset or offended. Step back and embrace the other persons passion. There has to be a reason for it... even if you disagree. You'll come away with a much greater appreciation and understanding. You may even find that by giving a little and trying to view things from the other side that you strenghten your own position, gain appreciation from your "opponent", and you may even find that they move a little further to you side.

Sometimes its damn hard to do when your passionate about something... sometimes you can't always walk away from the emotional hijacking that's taking place. In those cases remember that you are being hijacked and remember to return to your buddy... your friend that you've had so many other great conversations with... and do the right thing. Let them know things got out of hand.

This is all kinda funny. Only because no matter what Arcane, Nosey, Fossil, Aged, Havok, Bi, Spec, or even, yes Skidi has to say about any subject here, they are not going to change each others mind. I have yet to see anyone in any subject form within this forum say, "Hey, you know, that makes sense, I truly think I might be wrong!"

So, at the end of the day we have the left crying about the right, the right crying about the left and a few confused guys that float in the middle. But, you know what? I still love Nosey even though he's one step from wearing panties. I still love Aged even though he's supplying the panties. I still love Bi even though he walks around with a flag stuck up his ass. I even love ole Havok who apparently was beat up allot when he was a small child. And I still love Spec, who if you put a quarter in either hand would tilt from the middle.

All I'm saying is we are all pretty smart people and believe in what we believe because THAT's what we believe. This forum is truly a forum to shovel our shit around in each others yard and affords us all the opportunity to shovel it back over the fence.

So, I say keep on keeping on. Just remember, we are all brothers here in not only war but in life. We help each other all the time. You see it in the forums. You see it when someone here needs help be it personal, advice, or even equipment. How many times have you guys knew someone that could upgrade to a better vcard which happen to be the one you just replaced. And sent it to them? Did you give a shit if he is going to vote for Obama? No. So, swing away boys, like I said, at the end of the day remember, WE ARE ALL BRUDDAHS! Aloha!

A lot of good words there Heartburn, except the flag thing up my you know what. I have tried to post in every one that we have the right. Not just me but all of us to speak. How the hell will we ever amount to anything if we don't talk about it. I read every word and take it in. Not to take it personel. I weigh it and toss it around and then filter it and alot of times there is nothing left but the BS. Some might say the same about my post, matter fact some Have said that about my post but I feel better by posting and you all should.

All thru my life I was taught that if you believe in something you don't back down. If you are wrong you come back and say so, but, if you are right you continue to stand by your belief. I go back to something my father used say. Son, bend to no threat and cower befor no one. He also
told me, Son don't try to be a great man, just be a man. There are not many around. I have tried to live by both.

The values that I was give when I was young mean alot to me. So do my freedoms. I am a patriot and stand in the gap. Sworn in in 1968 and never un sworn. The dirt under my feet means alot to me and you guys mean alot to me also. I would never tell you what to post and what not to post.

With that said, obama still sucks.

Finally HB speaks truth!! Just kidding HB, well said, but you left me out and I'm hurt!

Bif's Dad obviously made a great impression on him and so did my Dad, who told me to have an open mind, so I do. I'm an analyst so I need a lot of REAL data before I make up my mind and seldom trust what I read and see on TV. (all my SNOPES posts bears that out)

I for one like the discourse, not the acid, but the discourse. I'd also like to start talking about the issues so I'd feel more intelligent come November, if that's possible.

I think we should stick to critiquing games, out doing each other in the 3DMark thread (equivalent to dyno racing), and trash talking each other in vent.

Seems religions/political forums tend to stir the pot unnecessarily and bring out the worse in people, especially in a forum that is meant to get away from all that crap. That's how I few gaming/clans anyway, as my getaway.

I think we need this sort of topic because it demonstrates our true freedom and a way to express our thoughts. In truth every one thinks their view is the correct one or they wouldn't have it, but actually we are all wrong and we are all right. It's great to state your belief on a subject and if you believe it to be true then you should do so, but to attack a person or group and state/spread out right lies is not just wrong its reprehensible. For instance if you don't like Obama or Democrats for his/their stand on abortion say so and why, not "Obama is a Muslim" or the Democrat are all "Baby Killers". The same thought process should be applied to McCain and Republicans or for that mater any group. Discussion brings us closer together if we will listen and try to understand what the other person is saying.

I will listen to any intelligent conversation as long as it makes some sort of sense but I will never pay any attention to a person that just wants to spew out hate and profanity. I will respond to their statement or views and agree or disagree but I would never attack them.

I don't like any politician, I've never given money to a political party or put on a button. I've never put a sign up in my yard or let one kiss my baby. I've never had a political bumper sticker on my car or shook their hands. but I have voted in every single election since I was 18 over 20 years ago.

I try to look at every thing from more of a common sense approach as oppose to a more nuance one and can be pretty blunt about it. It just befuddles me the way the libs think sometimes and I really wouldn't care one way or the other if I knew it wouldn't effect me personally.

However I do think if Obama does get elected it will effect me and the country I love so much and thats why I get passionate about it. How some people can ignore common sense and vote him anyway just baffles me to no end.

Thanks for your candor but not your sarcasim.

But why the heck would someone continually post links of political views that attack the the opposing party on a gaming site is beyond me.

You guys talk of passion, well I have it too, for fair play.

I love this country too. I'm passionate about it too. And, honestly, I felt, and still feel, exactly the same way about the current adminstration as you do about Obama.
