Back then it was a bag filled with tnt! And a fuse you had to light. The old war movie channels will show ya.
I play video games 20 to 30 hours a week on average. As do many of us. This has happened several times in the past. Like global warming, its just a phase. Things balance out over time. We come together when the game satisfies all of us. There are several great games out now. All the games we loved are still there. We arent divided, we are distracted. I played the single player Crysis Warhead for 6 hours straight last night and found it to be a ton of fun. I got it through Steam. Included was Crysis Wars, ill be playing that tonight. Anyone played yet??

When is CoD5 coming out? What DRM has it? Far Cry2, I am sure, will have DRM similar to Crysis Warhead.

Video games have paid my bills for 28 years 6 months and 10 days. I started with our local amusement company when I was 22, still doin it at almost 51. Started with Pong and Space Invaders, Asteroids, Pac Man, Ms Pac, ect. Now with Windows and Linux PCs on board. On the way we had the big ol laser disk players for Dragons Lair and a few others. Then console units inside like for the home systems. I left, moved to L.A., worked in the jukebox manufacturing & design field for a while. Then moved to an amusement company there servicing a route with 400 machines on it. Did that for the majority of a year, got sick of the west coast...mostly the people and came home. My old company found out I was home and hired me back 2 weeks later Aug of 88 and 20 years later im still doin the same job.
Video games are my life. As well as every other machine you can put money in. My west coast time was where I made my small mark that changed the look of modern jukeboxes. A friend said my name was mentioned on Ratzenbergers show when he went to the Rock-Ola factory with his show. Guess Ive had my 15 sec of fame, too bad I missed it. Cant find the show replay on the net yet so i dont really know. Anyway, video games pay the bills at my house and I love my profession.

Dito, I would like to be in it. But the industry will shoot itself in the foot if they are so intrusive as EA is getting.

On the commercial side there are no problems like that. They are cash generating entities. Some new games generate over 500 bucks gross income per week if they are hot and in the right spot. And some of the grey area stuff.....10 times that.

Some DRM (StarForce always caused issues)will cause issues if you use the comp beyond playing games. In my cause, I uninstalled Sonar 7 and Project5 from my comp due to issues I was having. I keep a clean machine, Medi.
