Speci, they always say they support "Sportsmen" aka hunter to get votes but thats only if you carry is a Shotgun or a deer rifle. But if you want to own something more "sporting" like an AR15 or any other type of military style weapon they start squirming.
Expired, all you have to do is look at Europe and Australia and their gun laws, We are the last western nation that has a right to own firearms to the degree that we do. We now have THE most liberal congress and president in US history in office, to think that they'll do NOTHING on guns would go against everything they believe in. Just wait and see.
The over under is one year on what they'll do on fire arms. Any predictions?

The ban on imports will be within the first year as well as gun shows. They will start to ban the sell of those like the AK47, AR15 and such in second or third year and the the forth will be for hand guns. It starts with giveing each state the right to govern the gun laws. Forget the constitution.
I have been called paranoid befor and laugh at those so blinded that they can't see what is happening. OPEN YOUR EYES GUYS. Europe and Australia did not believe it and it has happened there. The UN wants a world wide ban on firearms. Guess what comes next. But I am paranoid. Not.
It will start in the end of the first year slowly and a gradual ban will start going into affect. I wonder how long befor we have to stand up and take our country back or lose it.
The above was not ment to offend or hurt anyone. It is only one persons belief and ones opinion. I believe that is called freedom of speech.

Biff, why don't you make a nice detailed post on Pasadenapolitics.net?
I would appreciate it. Something with history, examples, and current leader's quotes. I would appreciate your expertise there.

All ya'all move to Texas. That way they'll have to actually invade to get the guns out of your hands (and every other Texan's).
Just don't go sneaking into anyone's home (or their neighbors), 'cause you'll be shot (legally).
I live in California, so they have a long way to go before they get as restrictive as we already are.

| "The (Democratic) Party seeks power entirely for its own sake. We are not interested in the good of others; we are interested solely in power. Not wealth or luxury or long life or happiness: only power, pure power. ... We know that no one ever seizes power with the intention of relinquishing it. Power is not a means, it is an end. One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship. The object of persecution is persecution. The object of torture is torture. The object of power is power. Now do you begin to understand me?" --George Orwell, "1984" - And if you have not figured that out by now with Obama in office, there is no hope. |

Texas? BAH! I live in OK and we have the same type of gun laws that Texas does, yes you can shoot someone if they're in your house or in your yard if you feel they pose a threat. The DA's don't even press charges against store owners if they shoot people that robbed them. Crime rate is pretty low around here btw.
Not paranoid here, not me, no way he could take the guns away by force...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UHmecy94z-M&feature=related
Oh that's how he's going to do it...

There I almost fell off my chair after watching that. Who's he kidding. a civilian military just as powerful? How do you do that with sticks, stones and good looks. There's no way the Gov is going to arm the civilians. LMFAO!

I voted.
McCain was my choice ... until the moose-hunting hockey mom. Negative ads and, what seemed to me, the party interfering in McCain being himself sealed it for me.
Obama got my vote here in North Carolina.
----------------------------------------------------
As far as the gun thing ... here is a semi-rant that may seem confusing...
While I do not own a firearm, I do know how to safely use one, and have on numerous occasions.
I do not agree with those who believe that American civilians have a right to own any firearm they wish. "Regulated Militia" is not "Joe and his buddies in a Bronco". The framers of the Constitution had to deal with muzzle loaders, not automatic weapons. But, common sense goes out the window sometimes.
There is no way that reasonable firearms will ever be taken from law-abiding citizens. We are dealing with POLITICIANS here. There is no way they would take that kind of heat... just to lose. Anyone who uses this patently false fear to suggest an armed uprising to start a Civil War just so they may keep their M60s in the closet is beyond irresponsible in my book.
I believe that pistols, shotguns and hunting(bolt, lever-action or low ammo semi} rifles should be the only firearms allowed to civilians. If you are not wearing a uniform you have no need for an assault weapon. We do not live in Lebanon. I have fired HK91s and 93s, and yep they're fun... but let's get real.
That being said, there is still no way that all those assault weapons already legally owned by law-abiding citizens will be taken away. It will not happen. Not now... not ever.
Want to be concerned about something? How about the economy? How about China gaining the high ground(space)? How about energy and where we will get it in the next 50 years? How about feeding a global population that is still growing beyond our means to provide for it? How about climate change?
There are so many more important things than whether we get to keep the Teflon-coated bullets over the regular lead ones it is mind-boggling. If someone comes into your home wearing a Kevlar vest... shoot him in the head(or the crotch for a real statement that lasts). Gun control is the ability to hit your target folks.
-------------------------------
I will give the president his 100 days after taking office before I lose faith like I did with G. W. Bush. I voted for him(Bush). He lost, but had a state controlled by his buds that caused so much ruckus he got in. That worked out real well didn't it? I still gave him his time and my support, for a while.
The election is over. It is time to stop being Republican or Democrat and start being Americans working together.

I feel that any firearm except for auto machine guns. The semi auto are alright. You are right about not liveing in Lebanon but you don't live in Charlotte NC. I have been robed at gunpoint 2 times now. One time in the driveway of a millionair and the other in the parkinglot of walmart. I carry now and will with the conceled permit.
If you take the gang related killings in the US you will think that we are at war now. Chicago, mostlikely had more killed last month than US soldiers in Iraq last month. I did not check the figures but I would believe that to be true.
As for the Militia, I know it is not joe blow and his buddies but it might not be what you want either. I know what the government is capable of and they keep growing. I can't go thru life and say all is just right and I think I will just smell the flowers and skip along haveing a good day. Our Founding Fathers knew that one day government might get to big and start to take away everything. They stated that in the constitution. We have to remove the blinders and look at what is going on.
Call me what you guys want, paranoid, crazy, heck I have already been called a lier. I refuse to just say that everything I am told is alright. I look beyond and break down everything they say and make my own decission.
We did not elect a savior. He can not walk on water. He did not part the sea but he is going to be the president and he can prove me wrong. Won't be the first time and If he does I will say so. I am a MAN and don't mind saying when I am wrong.
Also, I never looked at myself as Rep. or Demo. or ind. I looked at myself as a American and voted that way. What was best for America in my opinion. I agree that we should work together to get the country back in order but not by giveing it away and doing away with our rights and freedoms.
I will fight for every freedom I have and my rights as well.
This message was not intended to offend or hurt anyone. It is strictly my opinion that I voiced and I consider to be the truth regardless of what one might say.

Bifocal, that was a reasoned, thought out response that didn't attack anyone - i think you can drop the "didn't intend to offend" from that post.
i think BlueHair is right about his analysis of our second amendment. stock up now, or don't, my feeling is it's a non-issue until the "wish list" (health care, etc.) is addressed during the 'honeymoon'. we still have a republican president, and if the president-elect thinks he has any authority until jan 20 09, well, that'd be like Gov. Palin thinking the VP can actually do something in the Senate.
btw, did Sen. Stevens from Alaska get re-elected? what happens if he did, and gets sentenced? does he serve his term from club fed?
