ANNOUNCEMENT!!!
ONLY PATCH TO VERSION 3.0.8 build 9506!!!!
They came out with a new version today and I'm still checking with the developers if there's a compatability issue or not.

Well crap. Sry guys.
I hate to let y'all down, but for the moment, I have to take the server down. The versions differ too much.
Let me explain. There are 3 parts to the whole thing.
- The server. The bin files that run the whole thing.
- The Client. What you have on your computer.
- The database. Unfortunately, you have to go to an outside source to get it.
Before today, it was:
Mangos & Realm Server: 3.0.8 - at the time, the current version, same as the client
Unified DB: 3.0.3 - pre wrath of the lich king, still compatable with 3.0.8. Some of the content isn't there for the newer part.
Client: 3.0.8 - Able to get on the public server and private server.
After I logged onto the server to check my mail.... It was this:
Mangos & Realm Server: 3.0.8 - The last version
Unified DB: 3.0.3 - Same as above
Client: 3.0.9 - Unable to get on private server.
The client needs to be the same version as the Server. Depending upon what has changed will depend upon when the server will be back up soon.
Fear not, as all of the info that people gave me for the server accounts were saved, and for those that still want to try it out, I am able to add accounts to the realm server.
Once I do get it fixed, it'll be up to the current version, 3.0.9. Hopefully that will be soon.

We want the one, just before today's version. 3.0.8.9506.
Come to think of it, I'll re-download the files. you'll have to give me a while, cause DSL sucks. Once I get the client to 3.0.8.9xxx, I'll re-create the server. Compile the files, load the database, extract the maps, so on and so forth. Since I don't have to change anything with the Realm database, everyone should still have their accounts. For those that downloaded the game, but upgraded to the current version, you'll have to start over. Good thing is that somewhere on your drive, the client should still be there.
After I know that people can connect, and train someone on being admin, I'm going to have to upgrade my client to the current version. As always, I'll be on vent after 8pm PST if there's any questions.
I guess I'll make Fossil and Bloody in-game admins so that they can do stuff, if they need to, that doesn't require input from the console.
In any case, update the game to 3.0.8.9xxx. Pay attention to the downloads. And stop when the launcher says 3.0.8 and you have both expansions installed, then stop updating and start the game using wow.exe

Bloody said that he found a way to revert back if you went too far in the patching.
If it works, I'll have him post the procedure here.

It sorta worked. It did revert the install back to 3.0.1, but when I try to patch (both through the updater and via manual patching) it errors out. I have un installed and will re install again later.

OK, don't start WoW again for a bit. I'm recompiling the server and putting everything back together. I'm also going to do what I should have done before. Make a document on how to start from scratch.
I can't believe that I have the process memorized on how to make the server.

I'm pretty sure that KJ can only bring his server up to 3.0.8, so I would stop there.
I found that after each patch, the game wants to restart itself and tries to patch again. So, stay on top of it and stop it when it tries to patch. I simply went to FilePlanet and got the 3.0.1 - 3.0.2, 3.0.3, and 3.0.3 - 3.0.8 patches. After installing all the game parts (wow, burning crusade, and WoTLK) I installed one patch after another and stopped it when the game itself tried to restart and patch on it's own.
Also, make sure to delete the desktop shortcut and make a new one from the wow.exe found in the wow folder.

You can also just make a batch file on the desktop and start WoW that way.
Open notepad.
Type in the following:
@echo off
"C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Wow.exe"
Save as StartWoW.bat. make sure that the file extension changes.
Can't believe that I'm still downloading. DSL takes FOREVER. lol

Darn, so I need to reinstall and patch? Ish.
Hmmm… wonder if saving the folder with the 3.0.8 client would do any good in case it updates itself to 3.0.9.
