Went to see it. Wife went with me as well. Avoided the soft scene.

Found the movie quite good.

Sorry, HB, your audit letter is in the mail.

Don't you know Petri has become one of the Untouchables?

Saw it twice and may go back again. Incredible job with both the canon of the series and the characters. Young Kirk, Kirk meets Bones, Bones ruuning around shooting Kirk up with everything in the book, Kirk meets Scotty... all hilarious moments that stuck with me long after I left the theatre.

They even managed to get a "crewman #6" moment in there too. Nothing like the role as the first to croak with Kirk on a mission.

Lord, help me to be the person my psychiatrist medicates me to be.

Yep, saw it for the 3rd. time last yesterday. Got my 17 year old out of school to see it at Imax. SHE LOVED IT! You're right BH, how all the characters met was really cool and kinda funny. Every time I go I pick something else up. I still think you have to see it on the big screen. Seeing on a TV, even a 60" flat will truly not do the filming justice..

Actually, that statement best describes my wife. While those scenes make me uncomfortable due to their unnecessary nature (they really are), they don't give rise to the: walk out reflex my wife exhibits.

Aaaaaaannnnd I still write PasadenaPolitics.net. Call it my experiment with the administration's tolerance of dissent (hey, Hillary thinks dissent is Patriotic - and so is paying your taxes).

Petri, I cant fathom why you cant play Project Torque with me. The girls portrayed are rendered, not real. And I have never even paused to stare at em for more than 2 or 3 minutes. Even if my new girlfriend resembles one of the splash screen girls. I cant see the point of such censorship in your own home. But I will always be glad to play approved games with ya bro. No joke there.

Far as the new Star Trek movie....Im headed out in about 10 min to go see it.

[WARNING SPOILERS - DO NOT READ BELOW THE FIRST LINE]

Can't say the movie lived up to the hype. It was good, but not great. Transformers was a far better movie.

One of my biggest problems was the science was absolutely ludicrous. Creating a black hole in a planet?!? Why would you ever need to drill a hole with one of those? The uber (former mining) ship of doom!? Ala Borg style. I was hoping for some fleet action and not 2 ships sitting motionless in space at 100 paces (think old west shootout). The obvious scenes that we can all see again when the video game comes out (Scotty in a tube who needs to be rescued).

The best part of the entire movie was the opening scene.
