I will most likely get it but it won't be Steam or on-line I prefer to have a hard copy in my hot sweaty hands. I paid for R Factor on line and now I can't reload it and the place I paid for it ignores my request to reactivate it.
I actually ended up canceling my order at Gamestop today. The thing they didn't make clear earlier was that if you pre order from Gamestop you only get the beta if you choose to buy the download copy of the game. If you ordered the "hard copy" you don't get anything. Steam has it for $49.99 and it's the limited edition one with the upgrades, etc. and you get the beta unlocked in the next two days.
I use to hate Steam, but it does make things nice if you re install a PC. You just install Steam, log in and you have all the games you bought listed and ready to install. It usually takes me forever just to find my damn disks (if I ever do. lol) so the only draw back is having to re DL, but Steam is fast.
Honestly, I wasn't crazy about Steam at the start. But the benefits of having your games always up to date with the latest patches and available for download won me over.
I pre-ordered it off of steam. I had a very fast download speed of about 3.5 MB for the beta. It only took a few minutes to download. Will look at beta tonight after work.
It started getting faster after a few min. It took maybe 30 min total and I was right in the thick of things with everyone and their dog DLing at the same time. lol
I installed it but can't seem to join a game. It kind of looks as if they are having server issues. Has anyone been able to join a game yet? If so it must be my router blocking it.
Battlefield Bad Company 2 on Steam......
