Win7 truly is better. Win 7 is to Vista what WinXP SP2 is to Windows Millennium.

Win8 will be interesting as it will be akin to going from Office 2003 to office 2007 with the ribbon bar.

It's not that Vista doen't work, it was a stop gap measure before Win 7 was finished and their driver support for older equipment was disimal. Thats why the majority of corporate IT's passed on it and waited for Win 7. If Vista was already on a system you were getting then it was OK but it wasn't worth the price and effort to change from Win XP.

What Expired said.
But I would add that I had a machine, with the right drivers, running Vista then upgraded to Win7. I did notice a performance increase with Win7 over Vista - but if you are looking for only a performance increase, then upgrading is not required.

Nose's issue was more easily solved by wiping Vista.

I waited a long time to go to Vista, and most the issues I had were minor and related to 64bit. W7 64bit has been tops though!
