Dawn was breaking over the Cape of Stranglethorn and Morphidion was finishing up some tasks for Hemet Nessingwary and his expedition. He'd recently bagged all of the shadowmaw's required and was now in search of a tiger that one of the members of the expedition wanted dead. The shadowmaw's were difficult to find since they would prowl in stealth and you couldn't see them until you almost stepped on one. Morphidion had had a few run-ins with the goblins of the Venture Company along the way. Those little green buggers could pop out from anywhere. They deserved to die.

Morphidion was beginning to question his agreement with Nessingwary and his expedition since they only paid in gear, not gold and he was woefully short of the funds needed to procure a mount. Still, Nessingwary had promised a bow the likes of which Morphidion could not purchase. He was sure it would come in handy in his pursuit of further gold.

He was already at a heightened state of aleart owing to his experiences with the shadowmaws and goblins. He also knew that Stranglethorn Vale could be a dangerous place. He'd seen an undead priest earlier, but it had seemed uninterested in a fight.

Then Morphidion sensed another stealthed enemy nearby. It didn't seem right because he didn't think the shadowmaws stalked this part of the jungle. It was an orcish rogue.

Morphidion moved on to another location looking for the tiger that was his target. Things stayed quiet for a bit, but after some time he, once again, detected a stealthed enemy nearby. Morphidion was willing to assume the earlier encounter had been by chance, but a second encounter was an intolerable level of curiosity, so he set his pet, Spook onto the rogue, marked him and stung him with poison.

Quickly, the rogue ran away and attempted to vanish. Morphidion knew this would be only a temporary relief for the rogue since he'd been poisoned and, sure enough, he reappeared in short order. Spook was back on the chase. The rogue grabbed a handful of blinding powder and threw it into Spook's eye. Spook reeled from the powder and lost track of his quarry. Morphidion, on the other hand, was now also in pursuit. Hoping to escape, the rogue sprinted away with both Morphidion and Spook in tow, now further behind. Morphidion fired a concussive shot and slowed the rogue's progress.

Unfortunately for the rogue, he'd sprinted into a group of Bloodscalp trolls and crocolisks. As the rogue struggled for survival, Morphidion ran into range and, well, ended his struggle.

Consider it parital payback for the two rogues that had jumped him in the Arathi Highlands...

LMAO the trials and tribulations of rolling on a PvP server (RP or otherwise).

Novus Ordo Seclorum

Knowledge is power... has been since time eternal. Arcane knowledge is thereby ultimate power and can
therefore lead to ultimate corruption. Wisdom (and the experience that comes with age) is a serum for corruption.
Perhaps that is why there are so many Old Men with Arcane knowledge and so few young ones...
