It really wasn’t my fault. I swear.

You see, I was in a bunker on Calliope, protecting the guards. It had been infiltrated by members of the Nine Tails “organization”. There was only one left and, there he was! I raised my trusted FS9, lined him up and squeezed the trigger.

And at that moment, a Microtech guard, one that I’d been protecting, stepped in front of me! So, yeah he’s dead. And, yeah he was one of the ones I was supposed to be protecting (ie., not kill). But, the authorities blamed me!

I loaded up my, uh, acquisitions and took off looking for a place to store them. Shortly thereafter, I’m getting my ship shot out from under me.

Next thing, I find myself waking up in the Klescher Rehabilitation Faclity infirmary. Now, I’m just serving out my time … and buying soap on a rope at the prison commissary.

But, as you can see, I was falsely accused!

LMAO - soap on a rope is probably damn expensive too!

TOG was unfairly an ex-con too... lot of water under the bridge since then.

Do you think they will actually deliver before we are no longer able to play? I HATE the FPS addition, since it seems to me that is where they went off the rails on ever getting this thing done. imo, of course, ymmv.

At 64 I’m wondering if I’ll even make it to beta.

Regarding the FPS part, I was like you, very apprehensive. I’m not an FPS guy, but I’m actually enjoying that part of the game. I should qualify that some. I have only done PvE FPS and the AI is generally pretty stupid.

I’ve seen where someone called SC less of an MMO and move of an art exhibition that you walk around in. And, to some extent, I think that description is reasonable. I’m still kind of wondering what this game is going to be as it develops.

I’m having fun despite the bugs.

There was always going to be first person aspects in the game. Granted they may not have been communicated very well in 2012 but the conversation I had with Chris back then that was always his vision. During the initial pitch he wasn't sure how far he could go and so he stayed grounded in what he knew (Wing Commander, StarLancer, FreeLancer). There was never a time that he did not want fully realized planets and the ability to walk on them. When I had the opportunity to talk to him again in 2014 he was already about best damn 1st person universe... no longer best damn space flight simulator.

For me, if they deliver on the current vision, I'll be a very happy OB. It will be all of the components I've wanted in a game. I've dreamed of the day when you could 'live' in a future universe. Sims-in-Space, FPS (not just shooter though), Space Flight Sim, Ground vehicles, exploration... it is a huge undertaking and probably a bigger risk. If it works it will be worth it though. Even if we are in our 70s...

When I upgrade my gaming rig (outside of a 3060 I bought two years ago, its a 6 year old machine) I'll try Star Citizen again. Last time I ran it the game was chunky and I fell out of my ship and into space... so... yeah...
