I went from lance corporal to seargant with 1 point made!
TWO UNLOCKS!!!!!
I got the support and medic unlocks.
Apparantly EA got bombarded with complaints about the time it takes to get ranks and unlocks and did some major tweaking in that area for the patch.

Don't know if any of you are familiar with the Gamespot site, but I'm a subscriber and I got the patch no problemo in under 5 mins. However, every time I try to go to the message from EA that comes up after log in it tells me the server is too full and can't bring up the page. Anyone else have that problem? Is the message even worth looking at?

I had over 6,000 point to go to make corporal. I had only 3500 points or so.
We are all in the big leagues now.
It's a commander's dream in here... ALL the map flags are LABELED! One less thing to bang my head against the keyboard for. Now when I tell you to go somewhere there is no pleading ignorance. LMAO I'll know you just don't want to listen. :-)

in the readme notes there is a section on server reserved slots. does this mean that if you enter OMO names in the reserved slots they will be automatically granted access? if so this is great, and the checks in the mail

Wow, my first 2 kills moved me from Lance Corp two spaces up to Gunnery Sargent. Then I got some badge for doing something I don't know what.
I played Commander and had one team kill but numerous enemie kills and scored 70 points. However, my score ended up 70-0-1-4. Wonder what that's all about.

Oh Festus my dear dear friend. When you come on the server I always send you a OWO old friend. I have not tried the bf2 chat but might next time I am on. By the way nice job on stabbing me in the back the other nite I now owe you 2 lol.

Toothless, I believe EA has a slower server for the download and lots of traffic. File planet or a couple of others are much faster.

I'm updating at 10pm Pacific on the eagames.com site and getting 150k/sec download speed. Not too bad.

Got the patch last night. Same experience as others in the group, went up two Ranks and had two unlocks. I also tried the new map on a 64 slot server. There were about 40 players at the time. Very fast paced and a lot of fun. Great time to play a Medic :).
