You're right Fossil, no is forcing me to read it. But if I started posting articles on Pro Abortion or evidence that Bush and Cheney should be brought up on war crimes in a world court on a daily basis, I'm sure the shoe would be on the other foot.

My point is that this place is for discussion, not the place to post propoganda. The articles that Havok is linking to, stink of Neo Conservatism slamming liberals and do not encourage dialogue.

I don't think the intent was to slam liberals. Even if some have slamed conservatives. If you brought up something pro abortion I would just post against it. If you think Bush and Chewney should be brought up on war crimes then you should post it. I think Jimmy carter should be tried for treason with what he did in going to talk to the enemy. Pull his visa and stick him in a corner. He was the worst president we have ever had but things can get worse in my openion. Obama will make it worse. That is my opinion

I guess I don't see what he's posting as offensive, but that just me. If you were to post what you stated I wouldn't be offended just puzzled and would like to see why you think the way you think. not shut you down and close the discussion. "Most" libs preach about free speech but only if it doesn't offend them.

I'm not jumping into this even though I think the Global Warming is crap especially when anyone thinks we're causing it. BUT, what's even more funny is the fact those new light bulbs are made with Mercury. If one drops, you are to leave the home immediately, have a hazmet team come in, open all the windows and have it removed, professionally. Sounds like a good deal to me?

Of course, I remember as a kid my dad was in the gas gathering business in the oil fields. The gas meters that measures the amount of gas coming from a well into a system used mercury as a way of measurement. We had bottles of the crap in our garage. Use to take a small palm of it and throw it against the wall and it would break out into hundreds of tiny balls. It also cleaned silver (back when coins were real silver) real good too. At the end of the day I don't suffer from any effects from it.. STFU NOSEY!, HA!

If there was a discussion, that would be different. It to me is just political propoganda, nothing more, and it wears on me.

It's "they doing this" or "their doing that". Just cause it's typed or linked doesn't give it carte blanche. Tolerance goes only so far.

I've read a lot here about individual freedoms, how it's paramount to everything else. We are a society (ooh I said it) if you don't believe it, go down to the local coffee shop, take your car, truck, bike and ignore the stop signs and traffic signals that impede your free individual right to continual progress. Society has its price.

The freedom to choose your own career, the freedom to make as much money as you want. The freedom to pick you mate. The freedom to disagree with me and tell me to STFU.

I know this is choppy and fragmented but a million reasons why free is not free and the balance between individual freedom and how it conflicts with social freedom is running through my head.

I need a coffee.

Speci, your confusing laws with rights in your running stop signs analogy. You don't have the the right to break laws but you do have the freedom of speech at least in this country.

I'm reading a book by Mark Steyn titled "America Alone" who is Canadian by the way. His book is about to be banned in Canada ( you guys ban books??) because it offends the Muslim population.

If someone is talking on the TV about something I don't agree with such as half the cable shows on MSNBC and CNN, I don't watch them. I don't write into the TV stations and tell them to change their programming.

I would draw the line on any topics that were racist in nature because I think we can agree that is something that wouldn't be good for the OMO. But political differences? get some thick skin and wade into the pool and at the end of the day we can have a beer and play some games.

Yes Canada does ban books. Mostly for racism. Canada also bans militant groups like Hammas from organizing in our country. Canadian Internet providers also disconnect websites that have links to terrorsit groups and instructions on how to disquise roadside bombs as rocks. The United States also bans literature.

As for thick skin, I have it, I have been reading Bifocal's, Heartburn's, and Skiddy's post for years now. Some of it I agree with, some I do not. But I will not sit still when being bombarded by some outsider that posts links daily.

IMO the topic was not set-up for that.

I'm still a little peeved that havoc was ask to leave. lets review.

He's started 6 topics in this section since march. This is a bombardment?

He's linked to two off site web pages. one was about congress's low approval rating ( how offensive! )
The web site might not be an authority on much but the same approval ratings are cited in other more credible sources.

He's second link was to an Australian news paper ( how controversial! ) about a teenager that had some mental problems and took things a bit to far.

Get a Rope? Hardly Mien Kampt material here folks. Hes only guilty of not being a member and posting in the >PUBLIC< forums. Why have a public forum if were going to punish people for posting in there?

If I missed something or if he posted something that got deleted by a moderator let me know and I'll shut up. but from what I've seen it looks like th gun was jumped and we owe him an apology.

Seems like they are just guessing. 20 years of data isn't even a blip on the planet's lifetime.

Seems like supposition to me:
"Next, the scientists conducted statistical tests and found the spatial patterns of observed impacts closely match temperature trends across the globe, to a degree beyond what can be attributed to natural variability. The team concluded observed global-scale impacts are very likely because of human-caused warming."

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, bourbon in one hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"
