This is a Email from a soldier in Afghanistan to me and a retired Col. in my groupe. What you don't see of obama in the news.

Subject: Obama in Afghanistan

From the son of a friend today,

Mike

Hello everyone,

As you know I am not a very political person. I just wanted to pass
along that Senator Obama came to Bagram , Afghanistan for about an hour
on his visit to "The War Zone." I wanted to share with you what
happened. He got off the plane and got into a bullet proof vehicle, got
to the area to meet with the Major General (2 Star) who is the commander
here at Bagram,

As the Soldiers were lined up to shake his hand he blew them off and
didn't say a word as he went into the conference room to meet the
General. As he finished, the vehicles took him to the Clam Shell
(pretty much a big top tent that military personnel can play basketball
or work out in with weights) so he could take his publicity pictures
playing basketball. He again shunned the opportunity to talk to
Soldiers to thank them for their service.

So really he was just here to make a showing for the American's back
homethat he is their candidate for President. I think that if you are
going to make an effort to come all the way over here you would thank
those that are providing the freedom that they are providing for you.

I swear we got more thanks from the NBA Basketball Players or the Dallas
Cowboy Cheerleaders than from one of the Senators, who wants to be the
President of the United States . I just don't understand how anyone
would want him to be our Commander-and-Chief. It was almost that he was
scared to be around those that provide the freedom for him and our great
country.

If this is blunt and to the point I am sorry but I wanted you all to
know what kind of caliber of person he really is. What you see in the
news is all fake.

In service,
********************

Sounds like a made up letter to make him look bad, don't know why people do that, he does a good enough job of making himself look bad without all the "help".

It was also reported today that he wanted to visit the wounded soliders and was told that he should not do it because or political implications. There are two sides to every coin. I think I will vote for OMO-BLUEHAIR as a write in, so who do we want for his VP.

Fossil, are you implieing that I made this up. I hope not. I don't lie. This guy is a friend of Roger Dent, who is in my groupe for PTSD and introduced me to the guy about a year and half ago.
He is a regular troop and is in Iraq at present.

Dirt, this is not just a letter going around but a actual person in Iraq. Good gosh.

Sorry I put it up. The media would never say that It would only come from someone that is over there. LOL, It is like hell, if someone could come back and tell you about it and people saw them burning, they still would not believe.

Thanks for sharing, Bif.

Never hold back sharing yourself just because someone stomps on it.

"The (Democratic) Party seeks power entirely for its own sake. We are not interested in the good of others; we are interested solely in power. Not wealth or luxury or long life or happiness: only power, pure power. ... We know that no one ever seizes power with the intention of relinquishing it. Power is not a means, it is an end. One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship. The object of persecution is persecution. The object of torture is torture. The object of power is power. Now do you begin to understand me?" --George Orwell, "1984" - And if you have not figured that out by now with Obama in office, there is no hope.

Why can't they give us someone we can really get behind? Is there no one in our country that we could agree on?

Ditto.

However, the information, as a news source giving insight to a man who wants to be Commander-in-chief is accurate when referenced against Heart's link. God help us if dopes vote him into Office.

The good news is, even if he does get elected, he won't be given a free ride to do whatever he wants, like George Jr. Or at least shouldn't.

Err what do you mean eh? (Canadian)

If he gets elected he'll have a democratic controlled congress and a fawning media at his heels.
I haven't seen George (he's not a Jr. btw) W. Bush get away with much, he's been in the media cross hairs since day one.

To me it looks like George Bush has had support from both political parties from day 1 after 911. In the past few years, he has had it rough because of the changing reasons for war in Iraq, and the fact it was based on incorrect intelligence. That's a run of 5ys or so with no opposition, piling up a massive amount of debt.

Well I can't say what kind of debt (if he gets elected) would occur. But it affects us as well, as you are our #1 trading partner.
I haven't read anywhere what his agenda is besides pulling out of Iraq and letting that government stand on its own two feet.

I guess the 550 metric tons of yellow cake they transfered to Canada from Iraq a few weeks back was for Sadam's birthday cake? http://www.metimes.com/Politics/2008/07/07/iraqi_uranium_transferred_to_canada/afp/

They may not have found WMD's but it doesn't mean he didn't have them at one time. He had plenty of time to move them prior to the invasion.

President Bush like him or hate has kept the country safe from another attack.

Obama will raise taxes and that's never been good for the economy.
