They announced this awhile back, but thought I would mention this to anyone who used to play: Until they shut the servers down on Feb 28th, the game is free to play.
Ironically, I had decided to pick the game back up in October and was liking the changes they had made to the game when they announced that TR would be shutting down. Too bad really, but not entirely unexpected given the negative impressions on release. There were certain promises seen in Beta that were not lived out.

Sounds like the same thing that happened to FFoW. Rushed a BETA out the door, one year later, they now have a decent game. Too little, too late though.

This game was the first MMO I never played more than a month. Gosh it stunk. Glad to see it wasn't just me. Pet, I still can't believe that you still play CoH! The lack of pvp and the never ending grinding made me put my cape up a long time ago.
I might have to check out darkfall once it's released but WAR still has my interested atm.

Well, I like it. CoH does have PvP, as an FYI.
Looking forward to Jumpgate Evolution and The Old Republic when that gets released from Bioware.

My nephew gave me a copy of Sacred 2 and I've been addicted to the single player for days now. Nothing new and exciting, just fun.

Yeah, the last month and a half was free to play. Oddly, after Saturday night, the last night it was turned on, I no longer feel like playing MMORPGs.
I should run with this while I can. WORK PRODUCTIVITY 4TEHW1N!!!!!!!111111ONE!!!!

Yeah I know MMMOPGS are a complete time sink, but...isn't everything else?

Sorry KayJay, but TR beat WoW hands down for me. Also, I had some severe lag with your server, but I'll give it a try again.

You should put that in the joke thread, I almost fell out of my chair. Thats what I call a hard core Sci Fi buff. Let me know if you get Jump gate evolution.
(we sure are getting a lot of millage out of this thread)

I fully plan on getting Jump Gate Evolution.
And, to be honest: TR had improved greatly from the time of release to the time they shut the servers down. I honestly enjoyed playing it more than WoW.

Petri, I was eating supper and it hit me I was meaning to get you to show me how to get up on the high roof you were on in COD5. I had Shiite on a Shingle for supper btw.....really

sounds... interesting. There are two ways to get there, but I am accomplished only in the more exposed and dangerous method.

Im good with CoH and Dawn of War for now. Got my GF playing CoH so I play a lot with her. The next issue (free update) coming out will allow users to create ingame content in the way of custom missions and even new villian groups to fight. Should be really cool.

You should. I've been testing Issue 14's Mission Architect system and it is very functional.
