Did you pre-buy the game, only way you'll get a beta key at the moment.

The beta is free now without the extras you get with pre order. I have it on 3 comps here. Still it needs much work to be right.

Yes you need a beta key.
You can apply for one, and eventually you seem to get it. Most I've hard anyone in my club waiting is about 7 - 10 days.

Is it just me or does Bad Company seem a little slow? I guess I am just used to the much faster pace of the COD games. I like the destructible environment.
Bedpan, I think I have an extra key somewhere..... Want it?

I'm actually looking forward to a slightly slower game. However I put BC2 closer to CoD 4 or 5 etc., rather then say the pace of BF2 or even 2142.
From what I've read the maps are going to be a lot larger in the retail version, more like traditional BF maps than the smaller (typically) CoD maps. The size of the maps slows the game a bit.

Even though I have paid and downloaded this game. THAT will determine if I stick with it. Total chaos is no fun for me. Like to be able to at least take a sip of my beer between times getting killed. But, I am going to give it a shot..

personally I don't find it as hectic as the COD's...again probably because fo the size of the maps and the max number of people. I really lie the destructilbe enviroment though, knifing though fences, adn buildings collapsing. pretty cool stuff.

Apples and Oranges really, maybe even add in a couple other fruits. lol
What I mean is this. You can't really say at this point that BF BC2 is faster, slower, etc. as any other game. Why? Cause we are seeing one map (some of us have seen two now actually), and one game mode. The game mode is really the thing that is the factor here and even it has a wide range of "speeds". If you have a good team going on the attacking side, it should be hectic and fast, as that is the point. It's called Rush for a reason and you can win every time if you "rush" the targets and move on. However, the game is a ton slower even in this Rush mode if your on a hardcore friendly fire on server. I hear rumor they took all the HC FF servers down, but if you find one play it and see what I mean. Much slower pace.
My guess is that once retail hits and we get the 10 maps and conquest mode, everyone will settle in a bit. Having played the first Bad Company on Xbox360, I can tell you that the speed of the games were much like BF2. Sometimes a bit faster pace if you had a hot flag that both sides wanted, etc. but all in all it was about the same pace.

This is definitely a game I have been enjoying. The current mode of game play is rather interesting as you can do an Ender's Game on the mission objectives if you move fast enough and the enemy's defenses are either being completely pulverized or are simply incompetent.
The game play is slower than CoD, not only due to the large map size but because it takes more effort to kill a target.
