Got a couple nice add ons working for the server.
protection is now working for chests.
To protect a chest:
1) make a sign (2 for a double chest)
2) place sign right next to chest (one on each side if double chest)
3) on sign type [protection] on the first line
if you did it right the word protection turns blue and your name will be at the bottom of the sign. You can also add up to 2 other names to the protection list (people you want to access) by typing their usernames (no nicknames) on the middle 2 lines of the sign(s)
Also got gates working. For a tutorial on that go to http://craftbook.sk89q.com/wiki/Gates
I have a working example of both protection and a gate on the merchant ship (warp ssmerchant)

Well, I've been reading this thread out of curiosity, and while I don't feel just yet like I want to do the MineCraft thing (too many other things going on and spring is upon us) I thought I would pass this onto you.
It's a Mod for Minecraft called EXTENDED 2x2 CRAFTING GRID. Supposedly it's pretty damn awesome.

Mods are great, but they also cause trouble sometimes. Seems that along the way our server has been messed up a bit by mods or something. Every time someone right clicks a block now, they get a message saying they don't have permission to do so. It still works for people to right click, but super annoying message spam now. Spent a good deal of time yesterday trying to figure it out, but failed at all attempts. Back to the drawing board on this one. :(
I just spent the last hour re writing the permissions file and uploaded / restarted the server. If this doesn't work we may be at a point where we either start over or just live with things. :/

just give everyone permission for everything, that should fix it...until my nephew manages to cause a black hole to appear and suck the whole planet into a void. On a serious note that little fart mined all my free diamonds from my soon to be destroyed by Godzilla "God block". So for pay back I flooded his house with 5 buckets of sewage water from fossilville.

I did change permissions again and gave admin status to all, but apparently that doesnt fix things either.

This am I have gone through all the plug ins and deleted more than half we had installed. Let me know if the server is still giving the error message or not.
BTW, you may see one more person in game now. My nephew is now while listed and may get on here and there. He is a good kid, but let me know of any trouble.
Also, let me know if you want an area protected, as I have now figured out how to do that.

Let me know if you guys are getting the error still. I think I have it fixed, but not 100% sure.
Also, update 1.6 is coming this week, but I suggest not updating until we are sure the server company is ready and has the update live for our server.

Update on where things stand with the server.
I was finally able (after hours of work) to fix the issues we were having (right click issue, no warps, etc) and it all seem to be working well now.
I also was able to get regions working so we can now protect areas for players. I have already protected my castle, the harbor town, the lab, and 2 areas for individual players.
We also have 2 new players (a nephew of mine and his buddy)
We are holding off on the 1.6 update for now, as the update has some major bugs they need to fix still.
Still working on the elevator, gates, etc issues, but I think I have it so everyone can build and use them now.

I'll get back to playing minecraft after the Free Age of Conan weekend is over, they activated all the accounts so you can be bored for free instead of paying for it.

Festus, that was good.
Fossil, I saw that jj tried to join the other day and had updated to 1.6. Sorry we haven't yet updated cause 1.6 is super buggy still and it's best to stay at 1.5 until it's all fixed. If you do a search on google for minecraft going back to 1.5 you will find some info on how to roll back to 1.5. I have yet to try it, so not sure really. I backed up my install (copied all my minecraft files) in case I hit the update button on accident.

You have missed 3 major events this weekend Fossil.
1) I burned down my nephews "town hall" when my dog hit a netherrack fire and then backed into the wood walls of the building. lol
2) Mo ran into some issues making a fireplace with Netherrack and burned down half of her home.
3) Today we had a massive lava flow on our side of the map that actually burned up half of the port city, Mo's house, and went down the subway all the way to Fossilville. It was so bad that we actually had to reload the map from Friday, as it took out a ton of work we had all done.

Fossil, I saw JJ try to get on again today and she is getting outdated server message. We are almost ready to update to 1.66, but could be a couple more days. I will post here when we are there.
